TRAVIS COLLINS
Fans and industry insiders alike continue to lavish country-rock powerhouse Travis Collins with gold. After starting the year, as a now, seven-time Golden Guitar winner and back-to-back CMC Male Artist of the Year winner; Collins has established himself as a leading male vocalist in the Australian music landscape.
A dynamic guitarist, vocalist and live performer, Travis Collins continues to excite as a songwriter on his most recent release, “Brave & the Broken.” Armed with new songs for the album, Travis returned to Nashville in January this year for a whirlwind recording session with producer of the moment, Luke Wooten (Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley) and a studio band including Mike Rojas (Luke Bryan) on keys, acoustic guitarist Carl Miner (Taylor Swift) and bassist Jimmy Carter (Alan Jackson). Every track on the album was either written or co-written by Travis himself, with him joined in the writing room by some of Nashville’s foremost composers such as Jason Duke (Keith Urban) and Dave Turnbull (Luke Bryan).
With a growing string of hit albums, #1 songs, awards and a decade of winning fans all across the country under his belt, Travis Collins continues to cement his footprint as a mainstay on the Australian music landscape. He is as well-known for his masterful guitar playing and powerhouse vocals as he is for his depth of song-writing and high energy live performances.
Travis is a multiple CMAA and CMC Award winner and RUOK? Ambassador.
BILL CHAMBERS
Bill continues to tour the world playing in daughter Kasey’s band and also his own solo shows, playing anything from house concerts and coffee lounges to major festivals. If you’ve been in the audience at a Bill Chambers concert you’ll notice he always travels with a swag of guitars showcasing his connection to different styles of music that he’s been influenced by over the years.
“I grew up listening to the Hillbilly music my mum and dad played when i was a kid. I discovered early Rock’n’Roll, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. In recent times I’ve been particularly influenced by the Texas Singer/Songwriters”.
When he’s not on the road you’ll most likely find Bill producing and playing on some other artists album. ‘I consider myself lucky to have worked in the studio with so many talented people over the years, it’s always exciting to discover new artists and work on great songs’.
Bill has produced albums for Catherine Britt, Audrey Auld, Amos Morris, Jessica Belle, Sandra Humphries and HalleyAnna Finlay from Texas.
When you see Bill Chambers live on stage its evident that his music reflects his early influences and resonates with stories of his life on the road.
KELLY MENHENNETT
Daughter to a 3rd generation grape growing father and cabaret singing mother, Kelly Menhennett’s upbringing in SA’s Riverland region consisted of much song, wine and wide open space. After years working in the wine industry as a red winemaker, the healthy dose of soul, blues, country, folk and rock and roll music that infused her blood as a child eventually led her to the stage with a soulful, gritty voice that has since been compared to a mix of Erma Franklin and Etta James.
Since then the Americana inspired singer songwriter has gone on to win the national Telstra Road To Discovery award for her songwriting, independently released 2 full length albums and performed at iconic national and international festivals both solo and with her band. Most recently Kelly was the recipient of the inaugural “Ryan Freeman Live Music Award” at the 2015 SA Music awards and won the 2015 ARBA Best Roots album with her latest release, Small Dreams.
In late 2016 Kelly was invited to travel to the USA where she helped complete some unfinished works by the legendary gospel songwriter, Albert E. Brumley, famous for his classic, “I’ll Fly Away”. In late 2010, Kelly released her debut album “World Of Mine”, receiving great response by fans and media and named one of the top 10 albums for 2011 by Rhythms magazine’s Sue Barrett. Kelly’s 2nd and most recent album, “Small Dreams”, was recorded live over 3 days at Mr Lemons Studio in Nashville with producer Neilson Hubbard and an all-star band including the likes of Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket) and Kim Richey. In contrast to her first album, Small Dreams is a little darker, a little dirtier and focuses more on her love of Americana music, which has inspired her for a lifetime. Also well received by fans and media, Small Dreams was named a top 3 release by Rhythms Magazine.
Touring both solo and with her band has seen her developing a reputation around the country as a unique and charismatic performer. She has been invited to support some great Australian and International musical acts (Archie Roach, Don Walker, Steve Poltz, Tex Perkins, Richard Clapton, Anne McCue and Busby Marou to name a few), shared the stage with her idol, Paul Kelly, in Nashville and graced the stages of some of Australia’s best venues and festivals such as the Woodford Folk Festival, WOMADelaide, Queenscliff Music Festival, Adelaide Guitar Festival and Tamworth Country Music Festival, as well as the Americana Festival in Nashville.
KELLY BROUHAHA
“She’s known for having an extraordinarily rare voice” – CLARE BOWDITCH
Shortlisted for the Americana Music Prize in 2018, Kelly Brouhaha’s brand of americana soul is as real as it gets. The South Australian songwriter & multi-instrumentalist spends most of the year around a campfire, travelling in her 1992 Toyota Hiace Van called “Pamela Vanderson”.
Her debut self titled album tells the story after leaving her marriage and mortgage behind in the pursuit of happiness. The single of the same name, co-written with Aleyce Simmonds is a big, ballsy, freedom-esque blues which captures the heart of the Australian landscape and the lure of off-grid living.
Choosing to pursue the road less travelled after learning of her father’s althzeimers diagnosis – this album captures heartbreak and grief in a way that leaves you breathless. A diverse first offering from an artist you absolutely need to hear.
You cannot put her unique style into a box.
From big blues, to soulful country, it is real and raw and vulnerable.
MATT JAMES
Exciting is a word frequently used to describe Matt James, the super down to earth but equally as gifted country singer and guitar rocker from South Australia. Touted by many as “the next Keith Urban”, Matt has been making strides in the Oz country music scene having released his debut single ‘Miss This’ and also becoming a Toyota Starmaker Finalist for Tamworth 2019.
Whether it’s writing and recording radio charting singles or playing to audiences alongside Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers or Kaylens Rain – Matt will have you laughing, singing, dancing and in love with a fresh new experience that will leave you hanging for next time!
ROSIE ROBERTS
From her past and current work with Adelaide based folk band Axe & the Ivory to her more recent enthusiastic reception under the alt country umbrella, Rosie Roberts has impressed audiences with her thought provoking lyrics and gorgeous powerhouse vocals.
She’s back by popular demand on the tour this year and is as keen as mustard to have an opportunity to play some of her new material to be showcased at Tamworth Country Music Festival in January.
