COVID 19 – Sadly, we have had to cancel our first four shows of 2020 on 4 April (Luke O’Shea, Lyn Bowtell and Kelly Brouhaha), 2 May (Kevin Bennett and the Flood plus Jess Wishart), 26 June (500 Miles of Music) and 18 July (Kristy Cox and The Weeping Willows). Kristy was unable to come over from Nashville and the Willows couldn’t come over the border from Victoria.
We elected to change tack and applied successfully for a grant from the Music Development Office of the SA State Government to purchase livestreaming equipment and an internet upgrade to allow us to use it. Goyder Council and many of our loyal Barn followers contributed generously to allow us to pay our artists and sound/video tech people.
Our first “Alive and Streaming” show will be on 18 July with the incredible Louise Adams playing to a small audience in The Barn. If you are not quick enough to get a ticket to be here (still a few left) you can watch it live on our facebook page (@thebarnwombatflat). If you are able to help out by purchasing a livestream ticket we would be grateful but if you are not in a position to do that please watch for free! Scroll down and click on the event for more details.
John Simpson and I invited all the artists scheduled to play on this year’s 500 Miles of Music Tour to contribute a song to a video we are screening next Friday 26 June on our Facebook pages. In fact, John is driving to William Creek as I write this just to get some scenic footage to add to this virtual tour. Please watch and share!
August 15 will be the date for our next ‘Alive and Streaming” show with Kelly Brouhaha. Details soon.
Things are looking promising with borders opening on 20 July for us to stage our Sept, Oct and Nov shows. Tickets are likely to be limited by Covid restrictions so be quick to book for those.
We are still alive and trying to make music happen here! Please support us!
Mike and Di
After two very successful seasons, The Barn at Wombat Flat is consistently attracting the attention of some of Australia’s best musicians. We’ve kept prices stable for this period but are now faced with increasing costs that have regretfully caused us to increase our adult ticket prices for our regular shows from $40 to $45. Tickets for children remain at $20. Camping tickets remain unchanged at $10pp. All tix plus booking fee.
However, we are aware that the Eudunda community that we are part of and care about are in the grip of a terrible drought that starts with our farmers but affects everyone. For that reason we are holding adult ticket prices for residents of Eudunda and surrounds within the 5374 Post Code, where they have been at $40. Locals will see these discounted tickets when making a booking. Mike and Di would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
TO OUR LOCAL FIRIES – THANK YOU!
We are shouting some of our local CFS Firies to some of our events this year ….if we get to run any….to show our gratitude for helping with the Cudlee Creek, Kersbrook and Kangaroo Island fires…..and for always having our backs locally. If you meet one of these great guys or gals at our shows please say ‘thanks’ and if you are able to, please make a donation to their tins!
