After holding our collective breath for two and half years we can confirm…Kristy Cox is returning to The Barn at Wombat Flat along with some of her US bandmates and award winning Oz musos The Weeping Willows!
Billboard topping artist Kristy Cox has been awarded with radio success and accolades for her talent. Having signed with bluegrass label Billy Blue Records, Kristy released her brand new album ‘Shades of Blue’ in February 2022, following her latest award winning releases ‘No Headlights. and ‘Ricochet.’
Kristy has been awarded 5 ‘Bluegrass Recording of the Years’ in the Australia’s CMA Awards (Golden Guitar Awards) her latest in 2021 for her track with accredited guitarist Tommy Emmanuel ‘Finger Picking Good.’
Credited for her performance and songwriting capabilities, Golden Guitar winner Kristy has been shortlisted in the International Bluegrass Music Awards the past five years for Emerging Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year and was a finalist in the 2019 IBMA Momentum Awards for Vocalist of the Year.
From a young age, Kristy has captured attention with her distinct singing style and positive outlook, seeing her go on to open shows for major acts and appearing on Television and major Festivals across Australia, Europe and the USA.

2017-2021 saw The Weeping Willows nominated for 10 x CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ awards, 4 x Country Music Channel (CMC) awards, 2 x Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs), Live Act of the Year (Country) in the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs), performing at AmericanaFest (USA), Folk Alliance International (USA), Maverick Festival (UK), Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival, Out On The Weekend and the Australian Americana Music Honours. In recent years they have supported Lukas Nelson & POTR (USA), Hayes Carll (USA), Iris DeMent (USA), Eilen Jewell (USA) and Willie Watson (USA) and completed national and international tours in support of their sophomore album, Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’, which received four-star reviews in Rolling Stone, The Australian and The Music. Emerging Artists Scholarship Winners:
This year we offered an Emerging Artist Scholarship to six applicants. In addition to music business mentorship with artist Kelly Brouhaha, sound tips from engineer John Simpson and venue tips from owner Mike Roberts, scholarship winners get to perform a couple of songs at the start of a show. We are really looking forward to hearing Ella & Sienna kick off this magic night at The Barn at Wombat Flat!

Fresh from Channel 7’s, The Voice 2022, this teenage sister duo, really are rising stars!
On the most recent season of The Voice Australia, Ella & Sienna were finalists, battling their way to Top 6 on Rita Ora’s team! “Their vocal blend is impeccable. There’s no other act like them in the entire competition” – Rita Ora, International Superstar.
Ella & Sienna are 19 and 16 year old singer-songwriters from the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Both talented multi-instrumentalists, their live performances mainly feature Ella on vocals/guitar and Sienna on vocals/bass. Their original music brings a unique blend of modern country, folk and acoustic pop. Prepare to be blown away by the dynamic vocals, incredible harmonies and fun vibe created by these young artists!
The Barn at Wombat Flat is a NO BYO FOOD or DRINK event please! We will have a range of drinks from Ricca Terra Vintners plus beer, cider, soft drinks, hot drinks. We have booked the amazing Bearded Cook food van from the Barossa! Baked goods from the Eudunda Bakery.
